Ed Ashlin, who also coaches Shropshire’s Academy side, was appointed Shropshire CCC’s first-team coach ahead of the start of the 2025 season.

Ed has a full-time role with Cricket Shropshire as the pathway and coaching manager.

A consistent batter, Ed captains Sentinel Cricket Club in the Shropshire County Cricket League’s premier division.

He has enjoyed a long association with the Albert Road club, with the highlight leading them into the Birmingham League as 2016 Shropshire League champions.

Ed played his early cricket as a junior at Shrewsbury before playing his first adult cricket for Whittington.

Ed made his Shropshire CCC debut in a NCCA Trophy match against Norfolk in June 2022.
