Worfield’s Matt Rees will captain Shropshire’s Academy team in a 50 overs per side match against Herefordshire’s Development XI at Eastnor tomorrow (Sunday, 11am).
It is the penultimate fixture of the season for Shropshire’s Academy side as they will play North East Wales at Brymbo on August 28 and 29.
Head of Academy Ian Roe said: “Matt Rees is making his way back from an injury he sustained while making his 1st XI debut for Shropshire in the NCCA T20 competition at Whitchurch earlier in the season.
“He’s played a lot of Academy cricket for Shropshire and it’s nice to be able to give him the opportunity to captain the side.
“It’s also nice to see players from different clubs in the Shropshire County Cricket League given the chance to represent the county club.
“We hope they take full advantage with wickets and runs respectively.”
