Shropshire’s bank holiday Monday T20 double header against Cumbria at Wem Cricket Club in the National Counties Cricket Association’s T20 competition has been called off following heavy overnight rain.
Shropshire did see some action on a rain-interrupted day against Staffordshire at Leek CC yesterday, with the home side winning the second match by 68 runs after the opening fixture was abandoned because of the weather before the halfway stage.
Today’s abandonment means both of Shropshire’s home fixtures in the T20 competition have unfortunately had to be called off after no play was possible owing to the wet weather against Cheshire at Shifnal Cricket Club on April 23.
Our final two T20 group matches – weather permitting – are against Northumberland at South Northumberland CC this Sunday, May 7.
