The left-arm spinner impressed with the bat, top scoring with 64, on his first-team debut for Shropshire against Cheshire in the NCCA Trophy at Wem in June 2022.

His first appearance in the NCCA Championship quickly followed when he helped Shropshire beat Wales by seven wickets at Oswestry.

Sam has also represented Shropshire’s Academy team.

Sam gained plenty of Birmingham League experience playing for Bridgnorth and signed for Newtown, newly-promoted to the Shropshire County Cricket League’s premier division, ahead of the 2025 season.
