The wicketkeeper and right-handed batter made his Shropshire debut against Devon at Exmouth in 2011.

He enjoyed a successful return to the side during the 2017 season by hitting a half century, also away to Devon, when former England wicketkeeper Chris Read was his opposite number. It was his first 50 for the county.

Simon, who was born in Shrewsbury, emerged as a consistent performer in Birmingham League cricket for Bridgnorth. He joined Halesowen ahead of the 2022 season.

He is a very good all round sportsman and also plays football semi-professionally.
