Shropshire completed the signing of the former Worcestershire top order batter ahead of the 2023 season.
Tom quickly showed his class for Shropshire by scoring back-to-back centuries in NCCA Trophy group matches against Cambridgeshire at St George’s and Cheshire at Toft in June 2023.
His first Championship century for the county soon followed in August 2023, an unbeaten 103, from 132 balls, which included 12 fours, as he helped Shropshire complete a five-wicket victory over Dorset at Wimborne.
Tom has played 97 first-class matches, scoring 4,485 runs at an average of 28.75, with a career-best score of 171 for Worcestershire against Middlesex at New Road in 2015.
He has also hit 1,541 runs in 52 List A matches at an average of 33.50, with his highest score an unbeaten 116 against Lancashire in 2016.
Tom was also part of the Worcestershire side which won the T20 Blast at Edgbaston in 2018.
He plays his club cricket for Wolverhampton and scored over 900 Birmingham League runs to help them gain promotion to Premier Division One in 2022.
As a youngster, Tom played for Shropshire at under-10 level before moving house took him over the border into Staffordshire.
