Ross Aucott to captain a Shropshire XI against RAF at Oswestry

Ross Aucott will captain a Shropshire XI in a special Twenty20 match against the RAF at Oswestry Cricket Club on Friday (4pm start).

The match forms part of the RAF’s centenary celebrations and will be the finale of their week on tour in the Midlands.

Toby Shaw, chairman of Shropshire CCC, said: “The match has been arranged to celebrate the RAF’s 100th year and we’re honoured to have been chosen to host a game in their centenary year.

“It should be an exciting game and we’re hoping for a good crowd.”

Hosts Oswestry will be represented by the inclusion in the side of home duo Joe Carrasco and Alex Davidson.

The Shropshire team led by Aucott, pictured, features a number of promising young players from the county’s development squad.

The match starts at 4pm with entry free for spectators. The bar opens at 3pm and food is also available.
