Shropshire Academy will play a number of 50 overs per side matches during the 2025 season.
Representing the county’s academy side can often serve as a stepping stone to the Shropshire first team for promising players.
Shropshire Academy will open their season with a home match against Wales NC North at Bomere Heath Cricket Club on Sunday, June 1 (11am start).
They will face Cheshire’s Development XI at Wem Cricket Club on Tuesday, July 22, before hosting Herefordshire’s Development XI a few days later at Wrekin College on Sunday, July 27 (both 11am starts).
The final fixture of the season will be against ACE Programme Academy on Tuesday, July 29 at a venue to be confirmed (noon start).
Meanwhile, a Shropshire XI, which will feature academy players alongside first teamers, will play a Shropshire County Cricket League Representative XI at Wellington Cricket Club on Sunday, July 6 (11am start).
Ryan Lockley, the lead coach for Shropshire’s Under-18s, and James Wojda will lead the Shropshire Academy side from a coaching perspective this season as Ed Ashlin, who is both academy and first-team coach, will be involved with the senior side on many of the scheduled match days.
