Oswestry all-rounder Warrick Fynn has been named in the Shropshire side for the opening Unicorns Championship match of the season against Cheshire.
Fynn, pictured, a top order batsman and left-arm spinner, will make his first county appearance since his debut against Herefordshire at Whitchurch last June.
The three-day match gets under way at Shifnal on Sunday morning.
Bryan Jones, Shropshire’s chairman of selectors, said: “Warrick’s done well for Oswestry in the Birmingham League this season and he will add a bit of steel to the middle order while he is another good bowling option to have in the side.”
Simon Gregory is unavailable, with Bridgnorth’s Ryan Lockley selected to keep wicket.
Wellington seamer Jack Twigger, having impressed in the Unicorns Trophy quarter-final victory at Norfolk earlier this month, will make his Championship debut.
Paceman Alex Wyatt is ruled out through injury.
The first ball will be bowled at Shifnal at 11am on Sunday and admission is free for spectators on all three days.
